Treasure Hunting

One of the Captain and Scarf's first treasure hunts.
The two boys are second cousins. The Captain (actually a nickname given to him as a very demanding toddler) is the son of a local barmaid (a very errant member of the family) and often hangs out in the tavern with his mother where he hears of grand adventures of the high seas from the local sailors and fishermen. By the higher class he's widely known as a troublemaker, always managing to be somewhere he doesn't belong. By the fishermen and sailors he's a pet, a boy after their own hearts, most wishing that they had his spirit.

Scarf's father is a Navy captain and one of the more influential figures in the little harbor town. But as he is a captain he is often away from home, leaving Scarf in the company of his mother and butler. He is not exactly allowed to associate with the Captain as he and his mother are that part of the family nobody talks about but the two boys always manage to get together anyway. Their adventures usually start with the Captain throwing rocks at Scarf's window to get him to come outside.
