Koko design

This is a new design I've been playing with of Koko, the newly promoted 'Lord High Executioner' of Gilbert and Sullivan's comic opera 'the Mikado'. He's a pretty happy little guy, but quick to panic and a horrible liar. He was a tailor but because of his mild demeanor and the fact that he was next in line for execution the town thought it was a great idea to appoint him as executioner. Why, you may ask? Well, they really didn't like the Mikado's excessive laws where even the most menial of crimes is punishable by execution. So they decided to appoint an executioner they knew would never actually execute anyone. He's perfectly fine with that until he gets a letter from the Mikado telling him that there have been no executions in Titipu for a year and he better get cracking. Thus comes a lot of panicking, hyperventelating, scheming and crying...mostly on Koko's part since he really doesn't want to hurt anyone. He's a fast talker, though, and through some rather dubious reasoning get's himself out of it.

I've colored him mostly in pastels. The least threatening colors I could think of. And I tried to make him look more Oriental than my other design...who really doesn't look Japanese at all.

One of his funniest lines was just after he had gotten the letter and was having a major panic attack:

Koko: There's no help for it. I-I'll have to execute someone at once. But...but who shall it BE?
Pooh Bah: It seems unkind to say so but as you are next in line for execution everything seems to point to YOU!
Koko: (with a gasp of horror) ME?? I can't execute myself!
Pooh: Why not?
Koko: (becoming more and more upset the more he thinks about it) First off self decapitation is a very difficult--not to say DANGEROUS--thing to attempt. Besides it's suicide and suicide is a captial offense.

At one point someone with a cocky attitude pretty much dares him to execute him.
Nanki Poo: Very well, then. Behead me.
Koko: (completely horrified) What...now?
Nanki Poo: Of course. At once.
Koko: I...I'm not ready yet. I don't know how it's done. I'm going to take lessons! (he's really trying to sound convincing now) I'll begin with a guinea pig and work my way through the animal kingdom until I come to a second trombone. (His voice starts to break) Don't you understand? I can't kill you. I can't kill anything! I can't kill anybody! (and then he breaks down into tears)
Nanki Poo: (almost feeling sorry for him) If I don't mind, why should you? After all, sooner or later it must be done."
Koko: Must it!? Why should I kill you when signing an affidavit SAYING you've been killed will do just as well????

And thus begins his next problem. He puts Nanki Poo, a wandering minstrel's name on the paper and gave it to the Mikado. The only problem is that that wandering minstrel just happened to be the prince of Japan in disguise. So then Koko was in trouble for killing the heir to the throne! (which he hadn't actually, done of course but he couldn't say that after giving the man an official paper stating the fact)
